Are IIT Tirupati Students eligible for Scholar Loans?

IIT Tirupati Academic Building is located on Tirupati-Renigunta Road, Settipalli Post, tirupati-517506.

How do we travel between the Hostel and Academic Building?
The Institute has arranged buses/vans for students to travel from their respective hostels to the Academic Building and Workshop premises.
Where will the permanent campus be located?
The permanent campus is located in Merlapaka village on the Yerpedu-Venkatagiri Road (NH565). The Andhra Pradesh Government has allotted around 530 acres land in a picturesque location with a mountain back drop.

When will the permanent campus be ready?
In the first phase of campus development, a transit campus over 30 acres is currently under construction. This campus includes hostels with 600 capacity for boys and girls, laboratory facilities, a classroom complex, a dining facility, an indoor sports arena and outdoor sports facilities. The transit campus facility is expected to be operational by December 2017.
The permanent campus, which will eventually house 12,000 students, will be developed in phases. The appointment of a Master Planning & Architecture consultant is currently in progress to facilitate systematic planning for the phased growth of the campus.
What about placement?
By the time you are in your third year, the placement office should be in place. Every effort will be made to arrange leading companies to come for placement. Going by the record of many of the new IITs started in 2008, this should not be a major concern.
What is the infrastructure available in the a new institute?
The Academic Building in the temporary campus is about 61,000 sq. ft. with adjoining land. For the first year classes, Chemistry, Physics, Computer, Electrical laboratories and Workshop have been set up. A well-equipped library with access to e-journals and e-resources is available. All classrooms are equipped with desktop computers with Internet access, projectors, screens and audio systems. Plans are underway to make all the classromms air-conditioned. A 120-seater virtual classroom with video conferencing facilities and a 1 Gbps bandwidth connection to the National Knowledge Network (NKN) is in place. This allows interactive teaching and learning with instructors anywhere in the globe. Laboratories for Civil & Mechanical Engineering are currently being set up. Indoor and outdoor sports facilities have also been set up.
What about the faculty members who will be teaching at IIT Tirupati?
Currently there are 16 faculty members at the Institute, including 6 senior faculty members re-employed from IIT Madras and IIT Kanpur. In the next academic year, 40 faculty members across various disciplines will be appointed based on the on-going recruitment process. As and when necessary, experienced faculty members from IIT Madras and SV University will be invited as guest faculty to teach relevant courses.
